Interfaith Programming
The DJCC offers several programs for interfaith couples and families. We have two programs where interfaith couples can explore the variety of issues they face in creating a life together with their cultural and religious backgrounds. Couples meet regularly for dinner and discussion at area restaurants to socialize with other interfaith couples and explore issues common in most interfaith marriages. We also have an interfaith film series where we view an interfaith-themed film together in a casual setting and then have a facilitated discussion about the issues portrayed in the film.

This course is designed specifically for the Jewish grandparents of children being raised in an interfaith home. The program is organized in six sessions held once a month. The Mothers Circle Program is an umbrella of free educational programs and resources for non-Jewish women raising Jewish children within the context of intermarriage or a committed relationship. The program was created by the Jewish Outreach Institute through a grant from the Marcus Foundation. The Mothers Circle is now a national program and will be offered in Dayton in 2009. There are three ways to participate in The Mothers Circle, all of them free: a national Listserve, a course, and family programs. If you are interested in learning more about any of The Mothers Circle programs please contact the DJCC.
