Basketball tournament, sportswriter on Men’s Night

Dayton-based freelance sports writer David Friedman will discuss basketball as part of the Jewish Book Fair’s Men’s Night on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Hillel Academy. A basketball tournament will precede his talk. more

Book Fair Schedule

• Tuesday, Nov. 8, 8 p.m., Boonshoft CJCE: Prof. Deborah Lipstadt via satellite. Co-sponsored event with 92nd St Y Committee. Light refreshments served.

• Wednesday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m., Hillel Academy: Men’s Night Basketball Tournament and program with basketball author David Friedman.

• Monday, Nov, 14, 5:30 p.m., Boonshoft CJCE: Pizza PJ Party for children and parents. Stories with reading specialist Donna Weiss.

• Tuesday, Nov. 15, 9 a.m., Boonshoft CJCE: Morning coffee for preschool parents. Chris Furrer, children’s librarian at the Washington-Centerville Library, will discuss how to select a good children’s book.

• Thursday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m., Hillel Academy: Fiction author Gloria Goldreich, co-sponsored with Women’s Division. Goldreich will discuss her new book, Walking Home, the story of how a woman’s life changes after she becomes the primary caregiver for her dying parents.

With hundreds of new titles for adults and children, plus software, gifts, books on tape and music, this year’s Jewish Book Fair will help parents build a Jewish library for the whole family.

The Dayton Jewish Book Fair, sponsored by the DJCC, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8-Thursday, Nov. 17 at Hillel Academy of Dayton, 100 E. Woodbury Drive, Harrison Township; and the at the Boonshoft CJCE, 525 Versailles Drive, Centerville.
