Join us at 4PM for our 2018 Yom Hashoah memorial service, with guest speaker and Holocaust survivor, Dr. Felix Garfunkel as he shares his story and reflects on the lives of those who have perished. Sponsored by the Yom Hashoah Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton's Jewish Community Relations Council. The 2018 Max & Lydia May Memorial Holocaust Art & Writing Contest submissions will be on display from 3-4PM and following the program in the social hall. Dr. Felix Garfunkel
Dr. Felix Garfunkel was born in Romania in 1931. He survived through two
concentration camps before moving to Ecuador, and eventually immigrating to the United States in 1958. Felix and his wife, Erika, moved to Dayton in 1965, where they raised their children David, Janice (of blessed memory) and Michael. Felix worked as a radiologist and headed the department for most of his career until his retirement in 2010. He was also active with the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University since its inception. Join us as Felix shares his story of survival, perseverance and inspiration.
